Boise
Boise has been know by this name well prior to the building of Ft. Boise. The fort actually established about forty mile west in the vicinity of Parma, meandering along the Boise River near where it meats the Snake River edging the border of Oregon. The city of Boise is in the western part of Idaho just north of Nevada.
A major part of the town sits upon a wide even plain, dropping off to the west. Peaks rise to the N.E. going to the far S.E. tip of Boise and Eagle. These mountain are best know by the natives as the Boise Foothills also know as the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Just to the S.W. is a little town called Nampa. Boise itself is about sixty four square miles according to the U.S.C.B. As with most major metropolitan areas Boise is separated into neighborhoods which include Downtown Boise, The Bench, North End, and West Boise.
Downtown Boise
Like most downtown areas, Boise’s downtown is home to a multitude of shopping and dining locations. Most of the culture and arts are also located here, and vast majority of the small business sit in this area. This zone also encompasses a great nightlife that is little know to most tourist and visitors to our great city. Downtown Boise is a mecca for sports, shops, boutiques, cafe’s, and any number amenities that a city could offer.
This area is know for it’s great Boise Real Estate and homes for sale. Quiet neighborhoods with tree lined streets makes it ideal for families looking to settle in make this great city there home.
This neighborhood was built in 1960′s to the early ’80′s. This area has a uniquely small population but will include some niced acre sized lot’s and the occasional farm areas. Back in the early 1980′s the growth was limited to prevent urban sprawl, but this has been lifted and the growth of S.W. Boise has boomed. Here is near to may conviences like the airport, shopping, golf, I84 and The Boise Bench.
Nestled along the Boise Foothills this area of Boise encompasses a spattering of new and old neighborhoods. Silver Lake is also located here which used to be a quarry. The seasoned homes here have a likeness to the older homes in N.W. Boise. One of the many lures of the area is it’s close proximity to the downtown area and just across the river is the Boise Bench.
Warm Springs
Here you will find grand homes and luxury estates. Many of theses mansion were constructed by successful miners and business men wanting to have a residence near the natural hot springs that come from the city’s fault line.
Also know as Barber Town this area features a hotel but recently has developed for new residential occupancy. Great access to Highway 21 can lead you to the Idaho Mountains and the world famous Shakespeare Festival.
Southeast Boise starts from the campus of B.S.U. and ends at Micron Technology. The southern part is a bit older is often depicted as a combination between North End and the Boise Bench. This area was recently developed within the last thirty years or so. The beauty of this area is the natural occurrences of Table Rock and the river. It is also very conviienent since it seems everything is about fifteen minutes away.
Just south of downtown with a elevated elevation the Bench’s namesake is derived from the abrupt rise in elevation, just around sixty feet which gives it the appearance of a stair or bench. Many Boise homes and real estate are here and just south is the airport.
Here in West Boise you find the Towne Square Mall which happens to be the largest in Idaho. There are many strip malls and shops to be found. As far as living in the area there are many new subdivisions, apartments and condos.
